Thomas E. Steffen, MD

Fellow, American Academy of Family Practice

Dr. Steffen brings 37 years of experience in Family Medicine to the community. He served in the US Navy for over 40 years, a tour of duty in Vietnam and retired from the Naval Reserve in 2002. He is fluent in Spanish, enjoys flying his plane and loves to travel.

Dr. Steffen attended the University of North Texas in Denton earning his Bachelors degree and continued on to Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana to complete his Medical Degree. Upon completion of his residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Dr. Steffen opened his solo practice in Decatur in 1976. He later joined Wise County Medical and Surgical Association in 1996 to form a multi- specialty group practice.

With many years of medical outpatient practice, hospital patient care and emergency room experience, Dr. Steffen brings a full range of medical care to his patients.
